The mouse pointer selection stopped working. The pointer is a grey black arrow and no matter what I select it will not change. A reboot does not help and within a program, the arrow does not show up at all.
Is there some way to reload the mouse program or repair it?

Jim, do you have two or more monitors connected?
What brand mouse?
Is the mouse wired or wireless?
Laptop or desktop? And what brand of laptop or desktop?
