I couldn\u2019t understand why, since I only recorded a couple more movies from my cable box.<\/p>\n<p>I scanned through my videos only to find that the last movies copied over were <strong>140Gb<\/strong> to <strong>170GB<\/strong> in size. After a little research, I came across some preset settings that did a pretty good job. I saved the presets for future use.<\/p>\n<p>Open Handbrake and click on the \u201c<strong>Preset<\/strong>\u201d option, scroll to the bottom of the list, and select \u201c<strong>Production Standard<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Select the summary tab. I set the \u201c<strong>Video Encoder<\/strong>\u201d to \u201c<strong>H.264 (x264)<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>For the \u201c<strong>Framerate (FPS)<\/strong>, I set it to \u201c<strong>Same as source<\/strong>\u201d and checked the \u201c<strong>Constant Framerate<\/strong>\u201d option just under it &#8211; the \u201c<strong>Constant Quality<\/strong>\u201d slider I set to <strong>23<\/strong>. Click on the \u201c<strong>Save New Preset<\/strong>\u201d and give it a name. I was able to knock down a few <strong>100GB+ videos<\/strong>\u00a0to an average of <strong>4GB<\/strong> each, and it only took, on average, about <strong>25<\/strong> minutes each. The quality was pretty good, as well.<\/p>\n<p>These are just suggestions, but you are free to experiment with your own settings. Create your own presets.
