Their problems varied from issues occasionally popping up to major issues where their calls went directly to voicemail, low or spotty volume, and messages arriving late. I showed that the phones could use Wi-Fi Calling, which usually fixed the issue. However, when using Wi-Fi Calling, unlike when using Cellular data, your emergency address is unknown.<\/p>\n<h2>Why The Emergency Address Matters<\/h2>\n<p><!--StartFragment --><\/p>\n<p>When you use <strong>Wi-Fi Calling<\/strong>, your phone can\u2019t automatically transmit your location like it does over a cellular network. Instead, it relies on the <strong>emergency address you\u2019ve registered<\/strong> with your carrier to route your call to the correct 911 dispatch center.<\/p>\n<p>If your emergency address is outdated or incorrect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Your call might be routed to the wrong 911 center<\/strong>, delaying emergency response<\/li>\n<li><strong>First responders could be sent to the wrong location<\/strong>, especially if you can\u2019t speak or provide your address during the call<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What You Should Do<\/h2>\n<p>To stay safe, update your emergency address to reflect your current physical location, especially if:<br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u2022 You\u2019ve moved to a different state or city<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u2022 You\u2019re using Wi-Fi Calling at a new or temporary residence<\/strong><\/p><div id=\"daves-379983620\" class=\"daves-single-post-in-content\" style=\"margin-bottom: 25px;\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-7205184075006101\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7205184075006101\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"2700504761\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"false\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<h2>How To Update It:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Android<\/strong>:\u00a0 Navigate to Settings &gt; Phone &gt; Wi-Fi Calling &gt; then tap on the box labeled Emergency Address.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-149443\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2-640x900.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2-640x900.png 640w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2-284x400.png 284w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2-107x150.png 107w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2-768x1080.png 768w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Wi-Fi-Calling-image-2.png 1083w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It will open a new window where you may enter the correct information. This varies by device; for some, it is listed under Settings. Cellular &gt; Wi-Fi Calling. When I checked my Wife&#8217;s, hers was set to Huntington Beach, CA, where we bought her phone. So, there is a fair chance yours may be wrong as well.
