It was one of those scammer&#8217;s ads that tries to convince you that your system is infected. Two things to keep in mind:<\/p>\n<p>1. Never call any of the numbers listed<\/p>\n<p>2. Usually, it&#8217;s not a virus but a scammer taking advantage of a flaw in the browser making it a bit hard to get rid of<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Scammer-Warning.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-119616\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Scammer-Warning.jpg\" alt=\"safari-browser-scammer-warning\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Scammer-Warning.jpg 640w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Scammer-Warning-350x263.jpg 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Scammer-Warning-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I went online to see how to reset the browser; I was convinced that would clear it out. Usually, it works for Windows but Apple decided to do away with the reset option. Remove a useful and convenient option, what a Microsoft move to make :-).<\/p><div id=\"daves-1885963590\" class=\"daves-single-post-in-content\" style=\"margin-bottom: 25px;\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-7205184075006101\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-7205184075006101\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"2700504761\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"false\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I did&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>First, you might want to Force close the browser if you can&#8217;t close it normally. Do this by opening the <strong>Force Quit Utility<\/strong>, which somewhat resembles the task manager in Windows. Click on the options key, command, and Esc at the same time.\u00a0 <strong>ALT(options)+CMD+ESC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Apple-Option-Command-Esc.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-119617\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Apple-Option-Command-Esc.jpg\" alt=\"apple-safari-option-command-esc\" width=\"500\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Apple-Option-Command-Esc.jpg 500w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Apple-Option-Command-Esc-350x373.jpg 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Apple-Option-Command-Esc-141x150.jpg 141w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When the box opens, click on <strong>Safari<\/strong> in this case, and then click on <strong>Force Quit<\/strong>. You&#8217;ll get a confirmation box asking, &#8220;Do you want to force \u201cSafari\u201d to quit? You will lose any unsaved changes.&#8221; <strong>Click on Force Quit again<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Force-Quit.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-119618\" src=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Force-Quit.jpg\" alt=\"safari-force-quit\" width=\"508\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Force-Quit.jpg 508w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Force-Quit-350x331.jpg 350w, https:\/\/davescomputertips.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Safari-Force-Quit-150x142.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now hold down <strong>Shift<\/strong> and open Safari again. Click on <strong>Safari<\/strong> in the top left-hand corner right after the Apple symbol.
